Workplace accidents can harm people, property, or the environment. They always result in decreased productivity. An effective accident analysis examines the behavior and conditions that led up to the incident. The intent of an effective investigation is not to place blame, but rather to collect and analyze information in order to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
This workshop provides the basic knowledge to conduct a meaningful analysis of the incident. Attendees learn how to identify the root causes and what steps to take in order to prevent future accidents. Some of the topics covered include:
- True cost of accidents
- Which accidents to investigate
- Steps in conducting the investigation
- Difference between and investigation and an analysis of the system
- Identifying root causes
