Have you experienced a conflict in the last month? Who hasn't! Yet conflict is feared and poorly managed by most people in many organizations. This first session of a two-part series will help you demystify and successfully rethink the conflicts you encounter. You will be able to appreciate the problems - and opportunities - that conflict brings. You will better understand your style (as well as the style of others) when it comes to conflict situations. By the end of this first session, you will have an improved mindset and some basic tools for managing conflicts. The workshop combines lecture, demonstration, real-world stories and realistic role-play.

In the first part of this series you will:

  • Explore the problem of conflict within your organization
  • Develop a more positive perspective of conflict
  • Learn how to identify conflicts that are ripe for resolution
  • Learn to listen, even when under attack
  • Acquire mediator questioning techniques
