Supervision Essentials

Our Supervision Essentials series consists of six workshops:
  1. The Role of the Supervisor - February 11
  2. Understanding Yourself and Others - February 25
  3. Commmunicating Effectively - March 11
  4. Decision Making - March 25
  5. Performance Management - April 8
  6. Building Productive Teams - April 22

You can attend any or all of the sessions as stand-alone workshops. If you attend all of five sessions, you will receive a certificate upon completion.


Supervision Essentials 3 - Communicating Effectively

An effective supervisor is also an effective communicator. This workshop will help you express yourself better, identify assumptions and improve your listening skills. Additionally, you will identify your own listening barriers and develop ways to help overcome these barriers.

In this session you will:

  • Gain an understanding of effective communication
  • Develop an awareness of your communication strengths and weaknesses
  • Recognize how different personality styles influence effective communication
  • Identify methods to improve listening skills
  • Develop effective approaches to different modes of communication - written, face to face, and email
