Wage and Hour Law

This 2 ½ hour workshop will focus on current state and federal regulations regarding wage and hour law and how it impacts you as an employer. Participants will discuss the common mistakes employers make in this area and how some of these can be avoided in the future.

Topics covered will include:

• New developments in exempt vs. non-exempt status regulation 
• Determining independent contractor status
• Calculation of regular rate and overtime
• Pay frequency and timeliness of pay
• Time-keeping traps for the unwary
• Final paychecks
