Accident and Incident Investigation

Price: $149 for Members, $199 for Non-members

Workplace accidents and incidents occur each and every day across the country resulting in safety concerns for employees and significant costs for employers. Many times an investigator will find a challenge overcoming long-held perceptions about workplace safety and how accidents occur.

Al Freauff, of AEF Safety, will outline Best Practices for accident investigations. A well-planned investigation will help you determine how and why a failure occurred and will focus on prevention instead of placing blame.

Al will also review investigation reports, which should be written in a well-thought out manner ensuring recommendations and corrective actions are adopted to help avoid future incidents.

Attend this workshop to learn:

  • Who should conduct the accident or incident investigation and when it should take place
  • How to properly conduct interviews and document the accident scene
  • What processes you can use to determine the root cause of an accident or incident
  • How to write the investigation report, including development of recommendations for prevention of future injuries or illnesses

This interactive workshop will highlight recent trends in OSHA Compliance and Enforcement. After reviewing Best Practices attendees will discuss current compliance issues and have an opportunity to ask questions about their workplaces.

Attendees should come to the workshop prepared to discuss actual workplace accidents and/or incidents that have occurred at their company. For privacy reasons, information regarding employees and their medical conditions/injuries should not be shared during the workshop.
