Economic Trends Survey

Economic Trend Survey results are now available.  Nearly 2,000 employers with 4,200 locations nationwide participated in the Economic Trends Survey, and their responses indicate a relatively optimistic view going into 2012.  Some highlights of this year’s survey include:

  • Most employers nationwide expect staffing to hold steady or increase in 2012, and many expect to increase wages, as well.
  • Overall, employers are cautiously optimistic about the economy. 87% of employers nationwide felt that the overall economy in 2011 was the same or better than 2010, and 90% believe that trend will continue in 2012. For Oregon employers, those numbers are 84% and 87% respectively.
  • In 2011, 15% of Oregon respondents experienced a significant increase in revenue over 2010, and 44% experienced a slight increase. Looking ahead to 2012, 13% expect a significant and 49% expect a slight increase in revenue. Only 13% of Oregon employers expect any decrease in revenue for 2012.
