Jim Frazer, M.S., has over 25 years consulting and manufacturing experience as Plant Manager, Employee Relations Manager and Division Manager of Human Resources at Crown Zellerbach Corporation and Continental Can Company. Since 1988, Adjunct faculty, Portland State University, Department of Management, School of Business Administration.
Dan Blair, J.D., UEA Director of Member Services, has over 13 years of experience in employer relations, employment law, coaching and training. Dan has delivered over 150 classes on supervision, performance management, communication, and harassment prevention.
Al Freauff has worked as an instructor and as a safety compliance office in the Portland Field Office for Oregon OSHA. Allen joined Oregon OSHA after 27 years with the Portland Police Bureau, where he was a trainer at both the Portland and Monmouth, Oregon Police Academies. He is also retired from the US Army Reserve, where he taught nuclear biological and chemical warfare for nine years.
Wayne Landsverk, J.D., is a partner at Miller Nash, LLP. He has been advising and representing northwest employers in all areas of employment and traditional labor law for over 30 years. His labor law experience includes National Labor Relations Board representation and unfair labor practice proceedings, union election campaigns, grievance processing, and arbitrations. Wayne is a member of the national Labor Lawyers Advisory Committee of CUE, Inc., an organization for positive employee relations.
Tonia McConnell, M.S., works with clients to design and implement training and organizational development options that further their company mission. She focuses on process improvement, leadership, team building, quality principles and organizational alignment. In addition, she will develop and deliver classroom training to improve skills, and facilitate individual and group communication and improvement through appropriate modeling and coaching. She has over 25 years of experience in this field, including training positions with various manufacturing firms. Currently, she works with numerous organizations on a consulting basis.
Paul Spindel, M.A., Paul brings over 18 years of experience and an M.A. in Organizational Behavior to teach management and supervisory development, teambuilding, and strategic planning. He is sought after as a trainer and coach because of his tremendous energy and sense of humor, with the unique ability to teach through story and example. Paul has taught at several universities and conducted hundreds of training programs for employees at all levels, both nationally and internationally.
Iris Tilley, J.D., M.B.A, of Barran Liebman advises employers in all aspects of employment law with a focus on employee benefits. Her work with employers has included business planning for health care reform, advice on leave issues, and representation in disputes with employees. Iris is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington and often speaks and writes about health care reform.
Michael Haddon, Senior Vice President, began his career with Employers Unity, in 1996 as a claims specialist where he gained valuable experience in the unemployment laws of all 50 states and the administration and management of unemployment claims. Mr. Haddon served in EU’s Appellate Department and has represented major clients in hearings in all states where non-bar members may participate. He is presently responsible for handling clients in the field, analyzing reports and advising clients of methods to reduce unemployment liability by providing educational workshops.
Chris Sheesley, M.A., is a professional mediator and has devoted his career to conflict resolution. He serves on 15 agencies’ professional mediation rosters, provides on-call mediation service for various employee assistance programs, and is an adjunct faculty member for Marylhurst University’s Conflict Management program. His style is described by clients as being “effective, sensitive, compassionate, respectful, and professional.”
