UEA’s Team of Facilitators

Dan Blair, J.D., President, United Employers Association, has over 15 years of experience in employer relations, employment law, coaching and training.  Dan has delivered over 150 classes on supervision, performance management, communication, and harassment prevention.

Matt Kennedy, J.D., Employment & Labor Law Attorney, has 20 years of experience in employee and labor relations, including negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, contract interpretation, and workplace investigations in a wide range of industries. Matt has provided numerous training classes in such areas as managing in a union environment, progressive discipline, harassment prevention, conflict resolution, and effective communication.

Deb Bridges, ASP, is an Occupational Safety and Health Consultant for Safety Northwest, where she has worked for the past 5 years. Prior to joining the Safety NW team, she worked for 17 years in the contract restaurant field as a unit director, as well as conducting safety training and compliance for new and existing accounts both locally and regionally. Deb works with clients from various industries in building a robust safety culture, assisting with OSHA compliance, while keeping an eye on risk management and Total Worker Health. 

Shawn Deuel, Bridgetown Training Solutions, facilitates UEA's public and onsite First Aid/CPR and AED Workshops. Shawn adapts each class to meet the needs of the participants and focuses on building confidence in her students to act in the event of an emergency. Her goal with every class is to make sure each student feels respected and comfortable enough to ask questions, and that they learn something new despite previous knowledge. Shawn utilizes adult learning theory strategies in class to keep participants engaged and to increase retention of the material.

Luis Gonzales, Fierce, Inc., has over 20 years of experience as an international corporate trainer, coach, and learning/development professional. Luis facilitates high caliber, live and on-line workshops and Train-the-Trainer events and is passionate about helping individuals, teams, and organizations increase productivity and collaboration via improved communication and understanding.

Clark Masterson, Fierce, Inc, has over 2 decades of experience in personal and leadership development. His career has focused on educating, energizing, and empowering leaders to achieve more in business and in life. Clark blends expertise in both human performance and leadership development to help leaders and teams upgrade their performance. He has earned two master's degrees: one in exercise science from Eastern Washington University and another in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University.

Russ Rosenberg, President/CEO of Asset Control, has over 35 years in the Human Resource, Security, Safety, and Risk Management industries. Russ is an expert in employment screening, investigation management, training, and security systems administration. Asset Control has been UEA’s partner in pre-employment screening since 2009.

Chris Sheesley, M.A., is a professional mediator and has devoted his career to conflict resolution. He serves on 15 agencies’ professional mediation rosters, provides on-call mediation service for various employee assistance programs, and is an adjunct faculty member for Marylhurst University’s Conflict Management program. His style is described by clients as being “effective, sensitive, compassionate, respectful, and professional.”

Iris Tilley, J.D., M.B.A, of Barran Liebman advises employers in all aspects of employment law with a focus on employee benefits. Her work with employers has included business planning for health care reform, advice on leave issues, and representation in disputes with employees. Iris is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington and often speaks and writes about health care reform.
